"OPS to Commodore Fyrstk," came the voice of Ensign Wren.
"Fyrstk, here," Lukas responded, speaking to the comm unit on his desk.
    "(officer's name) has transported aboard."
"Very good, Ensign.  Make certain he is shown rahght to mah ready room."
    "Aye, sir.  Wren out"

It took a few minutes from the end of Wren's transmission until Lukas heard the chime sound the station commander's arrival. "Enter," Lukas called out.  The door slid open, allowing the Kriiasian in. Stemme's eyes were pure white with a black dot in the center, which was quite a contrast to his deep olive skin.
"Captain Stremme," Lukas said congenially.  "Thank you for responding.  We could have done talked over comm though."
"I realize that, sir," Stremme replied. "But I was already expecting your call, and I wanted to see the infamous Eagle in person.  I like your office.  Quite more plush than mine and about twice the size."
"Infamous?" Lukas questioned.  "Ah'd hardly think so."
"You'd be surprised the reputation this ship and crew are getting," DS-15's commander said.  He crossed to Lukas's desk.
"Please.  have a seat," Lukas offered.  "Can Ah get you something to drink?"
"No.  I"m good," Stemme replied putting up a large hand.
"Ah'm curious, Captain," Lukas started.  "How much do you know about what is going on with the Montave?"
"Enough to know my staff cannot handle anything like it, Commodore," Stemme told him.  "I have recently lost my doctor, and am waiting for a replacement.  I know the limited staff I do have would be overwhelmed by what Antov is telling use about. I requested a hospital ship, but Starfleet told me the only one available in this area has recently been disabled by some kind of attack."
"Disabled would be one way to put it," Lukas commented.  He knew Starfleet had been referring to the USS Borlay, which now lay in drydocks for some major repairs.
"I don't even think that ship would have been able to get in to Syonis," Stemme added.  "This is a particularly nasty area of space, Commodore.  I know the Intrepid-class was designed for this type of mission."
"Indeed it has, Captain," Lukas agreed.
"Now that you are here," Stemme said.  "I can off you support, if you should need it.  I have two runabouts that can traverse the badlands here."
"Ah would appreciate their being ready," Lukas commented.  "Ah'm actually quahte surprahsed you aren't more involved in the study of the Montave.  This seems lahke what your station was put here for."
"It is," Stemme told him, and by the initial tone of his voice, Lukas could detect some anger. "My science team was the ones to discover Syonis, in the first place.  When we informed Starfleet about it, Antov showed up and took over the whole operation.  Like we didn't know what we were doing, and here I find out they went and made contact with the Montave." He shook his head.  "They're not even ready for ANY kind of contact from off their world."
"From what Antov tells us, they took all proper precautions, and the Montave saw throught thier best efforts not to be disconvered."
"That's what he says," Stemme grunted. "I have my doubts.  Just like this illness.  I'm willing to bet it has to do with Antov's team."
Lukas nodded.  "Ah'm afraid you're rahght there.  But the question is... what? Again, Antov claims they have gone bah all the proper protocols, but it does seem suspicious."
"So, you can see why I am less than enthusiastic to help him out, here."
"Ah can see it, Captain," Lukas agreed, "but we have to remember our prahmary mission out here."
"I know," Stemme said, somewhat ashamed. "I just.... well, regardless, we still needed you out here."
"Agreed, Captain.  Hopefully mah chief medical officer can fahnd a quick and easy solution to this."
