Duty Log, supplemental. Sheriff Estrada has been kind enough to give me a full tour of his village. Most of the villagers were polite, yet very distant. I could tell they didn't trust us. Not that they could be blamed since Starfleet . . . misplaced them. The only signs of technology that I saw, were the sheriff's pistol and the communication device. Both of which have been upgraded. A new communication relay was beamed down and set up in the sheriff's office. This way, they would have an easy way of reaching Starfleet, should the pirates, or any other trouble, return. Also, a few phaser rifles and pistols were given to the sheriff. He didn't think he'd need them, but didn't refuse them either. I would have offered more, if I felt he would have accepted. But, after the tour of the village, and meeting the other people, I knew that they were very much against technology. The sheriff sent of messengers to people in the other villages, letting them know about the recent developments. I have left enough a couple more communication devices for the sheriff to distribute to the other villages as he sees fit. Just in case one town is wiped out like Tyler was. It wouldn't do to have the only means of communication with Starfleet to be destroyed. As it has gotten so late, the sheriff invited me to stay the night. He said he'd show me a little more of the countryside at first light before letting me go back to the ship. End Log Cmdr Gwenivere Marqusa XO USS Eagle
