That's easy for yourself to conclude.
(>>Is XP really more stable than 98?<<)

Nobody has yet figured out all the specific glitches in
XP nor in 98.

But if you Google for "Windows 98 errors" you get
947,000 hits.

Now, Google for "Windows XP errors" and you get
717,000.

Now, consider how long win 98 has been around in
comparison to Win XP and draw your own conclusions.

You can run a sloooow 98 on 32MB of memory.
XP runs slooow with 128, 4 times as much.

You can run 98 with a 66MHZ processor.
Try to do that with XP.

I read somone trying make a haphazard attempt at
justifying XP's errors by stating that an OS could not
be expected to run flawlessly on all the various set
ups that could be construed in the real world when it
comes to hardware, added software, etc.

Linux does, and if not, you can configure it to do so,
if you've got the savvy. It's "open source".

In Windows it is illegal for you to develop the savvy.
If you reverse engineer the software you'll probably
end up crucified faster than Clinton & Hillary
could say "I do not recall" when inquired re:
"Whitewater".
