After formatting win98se yesterday, I had a problem with dual booting. I posted this yesterday, but decided to try to "fix" it myself. Actually, the fix went OK, but after reinstalling win98SE, I forgot to turn my anti virus back on. While working in win2k (My machine was a dual boot), somehow, something got into win98SE. When I tried to boot back into win98SE, An UGLY RED SIGN told me that Explorer.exe had been infected by Code Red!!. I tried all I knew to clean it with no good result, and on top of that, win2K (also with no virus protection after reinstalling it) behaved strangely. MY WHOLE DRIVE WAS INFECTED!! I spent most of today using FDisk and format to wipe it clean and start over, but I only have win98SE up and running. Not much on it either, but the anti virus is running and updated today. I have no idea how this happened as I can't recall opening ANY mail in win98SE, but there you go. Normally a very cautious person with anti virus protection, I let my guard down for a short time and now I'm paying for it. Keep your virus definitions up to date and your anti virus running!!
