Rebecca If you are getting crashes that make the icons by your clock disappear, this means that Explorer (not Internet Explorer, though they are connected) is crashing. Explorer is the software that runs your desktop and folder windows. When it crashes, your icons vanish, and only those that routinely rebuild or alter themselves on a regular basis re-appear.
