Good one! I didn’t realize it was the first sub-$100 modem.

The VICMODEM is one of those peripherals: it’s been the first modem to cost

I mean, taking Commodore, MOS, and Amiga, and their respective histories
inclusively, what things did they do first, with respect to the world of
technology and it’s influence on the world, in the short and long term?
For example:
- Amiga had a multitasking operating system and powerful unix-like command
line interface on a home computer, which is probably the first home computer
to do that.
- The VIC-20 was the first home computer to sell 1 million units.
- The MOS 6502 was the first processor cheap enough to inspire the home
computer movement.
What are some other things like that?
Thanks!

Did you mean what the title says or what the email content said?
ie did you mean:
1) What did Commodore International/Commodore Business Machines/Commodore
Portable Typewriter Company do first?
or
2) WHat did Commodore do with computers first?
My understanding is that they made typewriters, then adding machines, then
calculators, then the KIM-1 and then PET series of computers, and others
following that. I have seen filing cabinets too, although whether they made
those or just had them branded and sold them I have no idea.
