For whatever reason, computer monitors with HDMI input more often handle 50 hz fine, and HDMI TVs are a lot more picky. Almost seems like a deliberate limitation made by the TV manufacturers.

All you can do is test it with the various monitors/TVs you already own, and if none work, do research before buying another.

Ok Robin, that means I will need to buy a monitor that does PAL in North America.

Many modern HD TVs sold in North America don't accept a 50 hz

It only matters with composite/svideo. Even pure rgb is stripped

Hi, I have some Samsung TV/Monitors and according to the
Samsung website it says that their TV's made for the North
American market dont work with PAL. Does that sound right to
        you?

Most televisions that take HDMI input handle PAL properly.
