Got the leg band info. There are 4 juveniles and one adult. One of the Birds spent a majority of its time picking at its radio transmitter. Have any studies been done on the affects Radio Transmitters have on Life expectancy and Nesting Success? Seem to me if A bird Was spending all its time trying to remove something from its leg it would do poorly long term. Just my two Cents. Ty to all the people that sent info on where to send the Leg band information. Salhany Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 8:30 PM To: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [TN-Bird] Whooping Cranes Following a tip by a neighbor I located five WHOOPING CRANES, the light was awful before I got there but I believe there are 2 adults and three juveniles, in a small pond just North of Ethridge TN, Lawrence County. The pond is located on South brace road about 3 miles north of Ethridge. If interested in the exact location just email me. It was too dark to read the leg bands but I hope to get up really early tomorrow and get photographs. Can anyone tell me what to do with the leg band information? Thank you and happy birding.
