Comments: Drove all around the complex this afternoon. Met Virginia
Reynolds just before leaving. Shorebirds volume is down, Pectoral Sandpipers
the most dominate shorebird present. Finally got to see and get a picture of
the Sora today.
Bird of the day was a pair of Fulvous Whistling Ducks seen in the far N.
Western center pit where there were 17 Blackbellied Whistling Ducks and other
waterfowl along with shorebirds. Seen through scope at about 200yards Lighter
beige/brown bodies seen with white flank stripes. Blue/grey bills. Pictures
from that distant were no good. Went to get closer and both birds along with
Several other waterfowl flushed as I began my drive down the western levee.
