A lone female Pine Siskin, my first Pine Siskin since January, made an appearance yesterday along with the hordes of goldfinches still devouring the thistle seed at my feeders. A female Rose-breasted Grosbeak and a Chipping Sparrow put in appearances at the feeders yesterday as well. There also are still several White-crowned Sparrows coming to the feeders. They usually hang around until mid-May. Dickcissels also arrived in big numbers this week in the fields behind my house. Hope to see you all at the state meeting this weekend.
