J. Percy Priest Lake Cook Recreation Area Davidson Co., TN 2014 January 20 9 am Wanted to hit several spots along J. Percy Priest Lake, looking for scoters and loons. Near the dam there were huge numbers of RING-BILLED GULLs both above and below the dam and a couple of HERRING GULLs. My next stop was Cook Recreation Area. There I got a long look through my scope at a PACIFIC LOON, which sat on the water for some time before beginning to dive for food. I had planned to visit Seven Points Public Use Area next, but direct road to it had a truck pulling a boat that was broad side and completely blocked the road. The truck was partly off he road, having just 2 of its 4 wheels touching the ground, so I gave up my visit to Seven Points.
