It's that time of year again when the AOU releases their annual checklist supplement. Very few changes this year that might affect your life list and ABA list totals. The AOU reworked tern taxonomy last year; this year it's the gulls turn. Note that "American" and "Vega" Herring Gull are not yet split out as Clements and others have done. Here's a quick rundown: American Flamingo is (re-)split from Greater Flamingo. And the Flamingo family is now placed after the Grebe family. Mangrove Black-Hawk is now a subspecies of the Common Black-Hawk. Eastern Spot-billed Duck is split from Indian Spot-billed Duck. Clay-colored Robin is now Clay-colored Thrush.
