I made my first scouting trip for Bewick's Wren this morning and found one bird singing on territory at 4807 Lytle Creek Road in Rutherford County. This is close to sites that have had breeding birds in the past. I have no relationship with the homeowners and would ask that anyone who tries for the bird will please not trespass. Grasshopper Sparrows were heard singing across the road. I also saw one Scissortailed Flycatcher at 3427 Lytle Creek Road. The flycatchers have nested near here for the past several years. You can access Lytle Creek Road off Dilton Mankin Road which heads north off US 41 a few miles south of Murfreesboro.
