Late this evening while scanning the pasture next to our land I saw a small flock of birds come in for a landing. I took my scope up to the bedroom to get the best angle of view. The small flock turned out to be American Pipits. There were 25+. I had long thought that someday I would see these birds in the pasture. . This was Yard Bird 109 so also the first time registered on my Great American Backyard Count. Earlier in the pasture I had 40 Meadowlarks Unfortunately my Woodcock did not show this evening so I will have to try again tomorrow evening. J.
