Blount Co Phelps Dairy Farm area, Louisville 2-19-06 Yesterday, there was one GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE feeding among Canada Geese adjacent to Phelp's pond where the heronry is located. Also present were 50 REDHEADS, 15 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 1 female PINTAIL, 2 BUFFLEHEAD females, and 3 AMERICAN WIDGEON. One lone SANDHILL CRANE was also seen, unfortunately with an apparent broken upper mandible. On the "stilt" pond down the road were 3 WOOD DUCKS, 2 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 2 GADWALL and numerous MALLARD. On down at Hitch pond were 175 REDHEAD huddled together, by far the biggest concentration I have seen in the area.
