This evening, around 6:45, I positioned myself close to where I had seen the
Woodcock last night. To my astonishment, maybe 30 seconds after crouching in my
hiding spot, I heard some wing whistling, but didn't see him, but within a few
seconds, he flew down to almost the EXACT spot that he was last night. Still
not being really dark, I got some great 15-feet-away view. He sat there and
called for a few minutes, then flew off. What another great addition to my GBBC!
