Hello Laz and everyone. Guess what! Good news. It was indeed the battery
that needed to be charged. So, now that it's like 84 percent it's all in
working order again for my Sansa. Thanks so much, and again happy new year,

Mazel Tov.

Hi Neena,

Sometimes a reset helps when the buttons seem to be unresponsive.
Hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds, counted very
slowly. It's not a race to see how fast you can count to 30, but
rather it needs at least 30 seconds to reset. It doesn't matter if
the player is off, on, turns on, or turns off, just keep holding the
power button down for at least a full 30 seconds. Then restart the
player and things should be ok. No other buttons need to be pressed
along with the power button to reset the player, just the power
button.

if that doesn't resolve the issue, then it may be that some corruption
has occurred in the files on your player or the player has had
something along the lines of dust, dirt, or fluid get inside it.

I tend to think it's file corruption. This is what I would suggest you do:

1. Delete the .rockbox folder.
2. move all your other folders and files onto your computer.
3. Format your player.
4. Download the below file for your Clip Zip player and unzip it.
http://www.wuala.com/TalkingMP3Players/Firmware/Clip%20Zip/.rockbox.zip/

5. Inside the folder that the unzipping process created, you'll find a
.rockbox folder. Copy this folder onto your Clip Zip player.
6. Paste the folders from step #2 above back onto your player.
7. Safely remove your player, then physically disconnect it when the
computer lets you know it's safe to do so.
8. Restart your player, and everything should be back to working condition.

Happy new year!

Hello everyone. Mine played wonderfully like it did for almost a year and

a
quarter. Then: while I was listening to a song, it totally wouldn’t talk,
except to say “files.” I haven’t a clue what happened. I’ve reset the
sonsa
about 5 times. I’ve pressed the power on and off with the volume button,
then power with the button on the left of the play pause with the power,
and
then the play pause with the power. To no avail. It just says “files” when

I
press the power button. It won’t tell me it’s shutting down or anything.
I
can’t tell anything from how much battery life I have, to skipping to
another song. What could have caused this, and how do I fix, please and
thanks? Best wishes for a happy holiday everyone. (Belated Merry
Christmas.)
