If you're on Windows, here's a relatively simple way of extracting the audio
from AVIs. Usually most AVIs have Mp3 as their audio. I know Laz used Oxelon
Media Converter before, and it has an extracting function as well. Note I said
extract and not convert, as converting 1) degrades quality, and 2) takes more
processing power and time. Oxelon instructions are here:

Another alternative is Media Player Classic. This I've also instructions for,
but it can only do one file at a time. I normally use this when not using CLIs
(Command-Line Interfaces). Instructions are here:

Note that I haven't given you any CLI converters/demuxers, as I know most
people
on here aren't exactly comfortable with command-line programs.

Hi Laz,

Thanks for your clarification. Actually the video content does not
matter to me as I am totally blind. I only want to make the files
smaller so that I may accommodate more files on my micro sd card. I
like to transfer old movies on my clip.zip and listen to them at my
convenience rather than being tied up to my laptop to listen to
them. I find that AVI files don't play on the clip.zip.

Thanks anyway.

Regards,

Akbar
