Anne Tad and I want to thank everyone who has been part of TIPSnet through the years. We will keep you informed through this email reflector of when we will restart in September. The web site will remain up and going. In July we will change servers going even stronger for you. **** This coming Saturday June 7 is our first annual TIPSnet picnic and gathering. We will all meet at Gay City State Park on RT 85 in Hebron, CT from 11am til ???. It will be a bring your own that way you're on your own for food. Should be a great day to remember TIPSnet's past and chart it future. I will post a good set of directions on the web site this week. (www.tipsnet.org) Gay City is a large state park with swimming, Hiking and accessible picnicing. Lets make it memorable, lets start a new tradition. **** For Tuesday's TIPSnet ....Bring your fondest Field Day memories of past and hopes for the future. Bring your clubs Field Day plans. Let's publicize them together, Field Day is when we ALL have a chance to have fun and make a positive impact on our hobby, whether a multi-op multi-station multi-mode giant or the single op in the back of his car it all means the same. It gives Ham Radio the chance to showcase what we do and how we have fun. We are either serious hardened contesters on a hillside going after every point or another group that would rather make a casual contact or two and eat eat swim and be merry, The are all types. The purpose is to showcase all of our hobby, offiicially, unofficially and whatever else we can do; Think be unique the new antenna, the new mode, a new country, watch a new ham talk round rhe world for the first time -- THATS Field Day I knw I had my first contacts to Australia and ngland during a Field Day past. Don't tell anyone I even broke the rules and ragchewed with both. Make a difference show off our hobby let the Mayors, Town Managers, Emergency Management groups, and media see what we can do in a positive light. We do that we've done the job. It doesn't take a large set-up. Thats all for now. 73 John West N1IWT TIPSnet Program & Publicity Manager www.tipsnet.org Email: tipsnet@xxxxxxxxxxx Fostering International Friendship Through Amateur Radio © TIPSnet meets every Tuesday at 7:30pm local time (EST) / 0030z on several RF linked repeaters throughout New England and New York State , including the Linked Repeater System of Connecticut.
