yes. You pick a machine (we use our SQL server which probably isn't the = best idea in the world) and during install choose custom install and = then process server. You then have to go into great plains and pick = which items you want done on the process server. You can have reports, = batches, payroll runs etc all pushed off to the process server. It really frees up processor and memory on the terminal server. We = don't use it near as much as we should. What version of Great Plains are you on? Could you offload the posting routines to a dedicated batch processor? We use Great Plains here. They call it Distributed Processing. Not really an answer to your question, nut it might get you to where you =3D3D want to be in the end. Greg -----Original Message----- From: John Knightly [mailto:jknightly@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2003 11:16 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] idle time -per process Does anyone know of a way to kill a users session via process idle time as opposed to session idle time on MF1.8? We host a financial app, and cannot log users off with high idle times b/c they may be 'posting'. I'd like to put a script together that polls an .exe's idle time then kills the session if the idle time meets requirements. Any ideas to make it easy? =3D3D20 John Knightly ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor - Emergent Online 99Point9.com Designed to facilitate efficient resolution of your technical =3D3D server-based questions, issues and incidents, technical support is a few =3D3D mouse-clicks away: you submit your incident-specific support =3D requests =3D3D via our online support helpdesk, our certified engineers resolve = =3D them =3D3D while you monitor the progress, and your systems get back to 99.9% = =3D =3D3D up-time in no time. http://www.99point9.com=3D3D20 ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or=3D3D20 set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor - Emergent Online 99Point9.com Designed to facilitate efficient resolution of your technical server-based questions, issues and incidents, technical support is a few mouse-clicks away: you submit your incident-specific support requests via our online support helpdesk, our certified engineers resolve them while you monitor the progress, and your systems get back to 99.9% up-time in no time. http://www.99point9.com=3D20 ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or=3D20 set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor - Emergent Online 99Point9.com Designed to facilitate efficient resolution of your technical = server-based questions, issues and incidents, technical support is a few = mouse-clicks away: you submit your incident-specific support requests = via our online support helpdesk, our certified engineers resolve them = while you monitor the progress, and your systems get back to 99.9% = up-time in no time. http://www.99point9.com=20 ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or=20 set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor - Emergent Online 99Point9.com Designed to facilitate efficient resolution of your technical server-based questions, issues and incidents, technical support is a few mouse-clicks away: you submit your incident-specific support requests via our online support helpdesk, our certified engineers resolve them while you monitor the progress, and your systems get back to 99.9% up-time in no time. http://www.99point9.com ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thethin.net/links.cfm For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm
