This may be being stored in your extend.dat file... and as said below it
might be done when outlook closes too. I cant quite remember but try
moving that file momentarily and see if it changes.

I suspect it may be a case of a setting that only get's written when
Outlook closes, rather than when you change a setting within it's GUI.
