Also check to make sure that XML is on the same port across those servers.

Good luck,

We used to see this intermittently as well any time or day as well. We had two
farms with WI pointing at both of them. PS this was WI2 and WI3. WI2 did a
complete hang whilst WI3 behaves as you described

Basically one of the farms was screwing up. Restarting the XML always fixed
the problem. (sometimes we did IMA as well as it was shagged) Once we removed
the misbehaving farm the issue went away.

I would normally point WI at your Data Collectors if they are dedicated.

        Roger,

this is an internal farm so there are no firewalls to pass. The
integrated firewall function on the server isn't activated either. The WI and
the Farm are on the same subnet as well.

Last time this happened I checked my farm and even the eventlogs for
every server around that time, all servers were up and no evidece of reboots in
the logs.

        Malcolm,

we have sheduled reboots on sundays and as far as we can see this pause
issue can happen any day.

Will try setting up dedicated datacollectors and point the WI to them
instead but I dont think this is a performance issue since Ive noticed this
behavior in first person even during the night with very few users logged on,
less than 10 per server.

So noone else have seen this on their WI4?

        Regards,

        Niclas

Possible connectivity issues to XML on the Citrix
servers? Have you checked your firewall logs? Are all of your Citrix servers up
when this happens?

                        Hi list,

we have noticed a thing about our webserver.

From time to time when You log onto the WI it can take
up to a minute before our publications are shown. Internet explorer just
displays a white page and says "done" so its not like its loading. If we just
wait the WI with all the publications will appear within a minute.

This seems to happen randomly but more often when there
is limited traffic to the webserver.

We are running WI4 on a windows 2003 server with SP1
and hotfixes from windows update, the server is dedicated for WI.

When we spoke to Citrix about this issue they say that
this can happen when the very first user logs on because of the DLLs loading
into memory. How ever we know for a fact that this has happened many times when
the server isnt booted recently and has been used quite a lot earlier during
the day. The log in dicates no reboot or crashes.

Is there some kind of "sleep" mode in IIS that makes
the WI behave this way?

Thankful for all ideas and suggestions.

                        regards,

                        Niclas Nordin
