Thanks for the comments. Bandwidth is indeed a concern.

The (single) T1 line at the customer site is typically running at ~1/3
utilization; however, it bursts much higher (1.1 Mb/s) for large print
jobs. We're looking at implementing ThinPrint or ScrewDrivers to
alleviate that situation.

Anyone know if there's an equivalent product (improved compression) for
sound?

It generally works fine, but you then have to plan for the additional
bandwidth necessary to support this audio information, and, you need to
maintain sound on all of your thin clients. So, the gain is more
centralization and unified messaging, the downside is the need for more
bandwidth and the tasks of managing audio cards, settings, etc....

Subject: [THIN] Voice Mail / Faxes delivered via Citrix

Greetings;

One of my customers has expressed a desire to implement 'Universal
Messaging' with their new PBX. This device is equipped to forward voice
mails and faxes to an SMTP server. Currently the client has some dozen
remote locations, around 40 simultaneous users coming in on a single T1,
=3D and they currently all use Outlook via Citrix.

I'm not convinced of the viability of playing voice mail over the ICA
connection, at all. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation who'd =3D
like to share their experience?
