It generally works fine, but you then have to plan for the additional bandwidth necessary to support this audio information, and, you need to maintain sound on all of your thin clients. So, the gain is more centralization and unified messaging, the downside is the need for more bandwidth and the tasks of managing audio cards, settings, etc....
