Hey - I can remember using a 300 baud modem - and an acoustic coupler.
Happy days... Monday, Tuesday, Happy Days... da da da... cue the Fonz.

At the time, it seemed (which it was) the cutting edge of technology -
computers that could actually talk to each other, over phone lines -
whatever next...
