It wasnt a requirement for the project, but from memory the
thinstation.conf.network setup file had config options for local client
printing.

Im considering using it more often for sites now who cant afford to replace all
machines in one go and dont have the budget to develop a kiosk image. The
thinstation project effectively can turn your client into a kiosk which is
perfect for some sites.

Tony.

Can you print to a locally-attached printer?

Just finished a project using Thinstation as the default client.

works really well. I got the client to use the PXElinux option
with it so all workstations PXE booted off their local Altiris deployment PXE
server and it booted fine.

Only had a few minor issues with it but in general was a very
good solution, especially since it was a free product.

                Tony.

                        Hello!

                        Does anyone use ThinStation
(http://thinstation.sourceforge.net) in a
productive environment? This software turns an old PC
into a Linux-based
thin client which supports RDP, ICA. It has been
mentioned a few times on
this list (according to the archives), but I'm
particularly interested in
practical experiences - we would like to put floppies
into those old boxes
and use them as thin clients.

                        With kind regards,
