I can't speak to any potential new Citrix functionality, but I can tell you
that Softricity is a great idea. It is a fundamental shift in the way
software is delivered which has the potential to completely change the IT
industry. How widely it will be adopted will probably have more to do with
market factors then technology. It does for software delivery and execution
what Citrix has done for access and centralization. It is as big a step
forward as Citrix was when it was first conceived and executed.

As far as the product itself, version 3 has addressed some badly needed
features and robustness issues. If your needs fit within some minor
limitations that it has it is a great product with some potentially huge TCO
savings in software installation, delivery and maintenance.

Subject: [THIN] Softricity and Citrix

I have heard rumors which at this point are totally unfounded, thus the
reason I am throwing this out here, about the features that Softricity
provides being included in the next release of Citrix (sandbox?). Can
anybody confirm or deny these rumors?

I also wouldn't mind some feedback about first hand experience with the
Softricity product, if anybody is willing to discuss it.

Thanks,
