[THIN] Re: Restoring Users Profiles...

As there is one server roaming profiles has never been implemented. Is =
there any advantage to doing so with a one server farm ? (other than =
making it easier to upgrade when I have to add a second server).

I have just started at this company as "IT" and the outsourcing company =
used before they had anyone in IT was, to put it plainly, crap and I =
didn't think they knew what they were doing. =20

All the servers had major problems, our AD domain was =
companyname.companyname.co.uk for example (and our company name is 17 =
characters long!), DNS and WINS was a joke (when you did a nslookup of =
our AD server it came back with the RAS port IP), they configured all =
our firewalls at DES3 and then wondered why Citrix was slow in remote =
offices. Also they didn't believe in documentation, there is not even =
one sheet of page or one document of what they did at the company. I =
could go on and on with this.

I am currently in the process of rebuilding all the servers (well all =
3), I have already done the AD Domain and Exchange. Citrix is the next =
one. Any tips on rebuilding a live Citrix server over one weekend?

Can't think why it wouldn't be.

I take it you don't have roaming profiles?

I suppose with just one server, you wouldn't neeed them - but it would =
have
them elsewhere.

I'd perhaps be selective with the folders / profiles you backup / =
restore.
Just seems to make sense to me. Will depend on whether you exploit the
default profile, too.

Just out of interest, why do you have to rebuild?
