[THIN] Re: POST MF SP3 asynchronous logons

Win2000 machines, SP3, using client 6.30.1050.

I pull the script, and they connet like a dream. No script to run
synchronous.

I turn the script back on, and logons take forever again.

I would check Brian's documentation first.

What kind of clients are these connecting to the Metaframe server? All one
OS? Thin terminals? Hybrid?

When not running the script, it flies....goes right in, no issues.

Logoffs still take forever.

You're talking about a logon script?

Have you tried taking it out of the user config and starting up the app? I
would imagine so, but I'll ask for the sake of knowing.

Slow logons are for both ICa and RDP. Waiting for the script to finish.

WIN2K, SP3. Too many horror stories about SP4.

This issue is ONLY on MF SP3 servers. Either built that way fresh, or
upgraded from MF SP2. I can walk through and prove it on command. MF XPe
SP2, good logons, a few seconds, upgrade to MF SP3, BAM! Instant slow
logons. The script is sunning synchronous, and all the reg. settings and
the like are set to run asynchronous. I can not wait for the script to
finish to run the app. That is why we set it to asynchronous.

Chad,

I know Brian released a whitepaper about troubleshooting slow logons a
little bit ago in this forum. (I'll look for it if you can't find it, or
maybe Brian would be kind enough to post again. ;-))

Did you run down the list and see if any of those fixed your issue? Also, do
you have 2k Service Pack 4 on that box?

Subject: [THIN] POST MF SP3 asynchronous logons

Has anyone heard from Citrix regarding this issue? I feel like I am the
only person experiencing this.

Since putting MF SP3 on some servers, the logons to those has gotten
INCREDIBLY long, small profiles, taking 2-3 minutes to open a published app.
The script is set on the machines and show in the registry, to run
asynchronous, but it runs synchronous and I have to wait for my script to
complete, before I can get the app. to be usable.

This is causing great frustration and heating up the already warm water I am
in. Thoughts, ideas, anyone else experiencing this?
