Mike,

Have you considered Metering software to get around your licensing
issue. We have implemented at some customer sites Express Metrix
metering software. It allows us to check out "licenses" of office apps.
So, instead of buying 50 copies of Office XP Professional edition, our
client purchased 3 XP Office Pros and 15 XP Office SBE. This, in turn,
might have even been overkill. Express Metrix gives you the ability to
see how many users are using the software concurrently, peak usage and a
bunch of other stats. It also gives you ability to limit how many users
can use an app at one time, thus staying legal with licensing.
Implementing Express Metrix saved our client about $35,000 in software
costs. You might want to check it out.

Rob,

If it were my choice then this client would run Office 2000/XP but as
with many organisations there are financial restrictions and 200 copies
of office is not cheap.

We have many sites that run Office 97 and the majority run fine. I
accept that there are some problems with it but this particular one is a
new one on me.

Mike,

I thought noone would be running Outlook97 anymore, years ago the
released Outlook98 which was a better alternative to the buggy 97
version. Outlook 97 doesn't run fine on Citrix, It gave many errors ans
sh*t.

Hi All,
I have a puzzling problem that I hope someone can help with.

I have a site with users running Outlook 97 on a W2K SP2/Metaframe 1.8
server. All users can run Outlook no problems except when they minimise
it. After about 5 - 7 minutes of being minimised it disappears - gone.
Process appears to have died off too.

Any ideas anyone??????????

Many Thanks in Advance,

Mike
