Again only in test environments. It is still too early for the majority =
of
users to migrate or install,

The old addage of "pioneers are the ones with the arrows in their hats"
applies in the majority of cases. =20

I would suggest that you get a good reseller to help you with the =
project,
as we are the ones that, on the whole have been playing about with the =
beta
versions.=20

Hi,

I think it is to early to tell about field installations with Metaframe
Xpe running on Windows 2003.
I have 2 test sites running on windows 2003, Metaframe Xpe (FR3) and RES
PowerFuse.
Both sides are using default applications without problems

With regards,
Ruben

Thanks for all the answers.

We already have out XPe licenses via subscription advantage so that cost
=3D3D
is
taken care of. =3D3D20

We use mostly thin clients so I should be able to upgrade my TS CALS to
=3D3D
2003
and that should be ok(?)

I have one 16 bit app that is going soon. Other than that we use =3D3D
oracle
forms 6 based apps so I will need to test them but I'm expecting them to
work as well as they do on 2000.

So, has no one got their feet wet with 2003 and XPe then ?=3D3D20

Thanks again.

Richard

The biggest gotcha for 2003 Terminal Services is that you will need a TS
license of each user that connects to this server (even Windows 2000
workstations). Windows 2000 servers does not need a TS license for =
=3D3D
Windows
2000 workstations because the TS CAL is built in a Win2k machine. =

Hi,

I've got 20 NT4tse Metaframe 1.8 servers to upgrade to XPe. We are =3D
=3D3D3D
still an
NT4 domain although a project will be starting soon to move to Windows =
=3D
=3D3D
=3D3D3D
2003
AD. My question is, do we go for Windows 2003 or 2000? =3D3D3D20

I don't need to do a straight upgrade of these servers, I will build a =
=3D
=3D3D
=3D3D3D
new
box with all my apps and then mirror it.

Any gotchas with 2003?

Thanks

Richard
