Then I would delete all of the production groups from the domain.
That isn't possible, nor an option.

Thanks for your input, though. I'm going to have to do a little more
research on this.

Also, remember that this is an NT 4 domain, and this server is an NT
4 BDC. WHY I WISH WE WERE RUNNING W2K AND AD!!!! This would make my
life SOOOOOOO much easier.

You probably should of deleted the groups BEFORE You demoted it. Can
you promote it again..delete the groups and then demote it again? JK

I don't know if anyone has used the utility called UPROMOTE, but we
have already purchased it, and are running into a little problem the
developer states he can't help fix.

After running UPROMOTE on a BDC, it will successfully "demote" the
server down to a member server. After rejoining the domain is also
successful. We can access data just fine, without issues.

However, the problem we are running into is that we cannot delete the
local groups that were converted from Domain Local Groups on the BDC
to local groups on the member server. We can delete any and all
users, but not the groups. We get the following error message:

The specified account name is not a member of the local group.

This happens when we try to delete a local group. Does anyone know
of a tool (resource kit or 3rd party) that will "force" a delete of
the object outright?

Thanks,
