Sorry. I only know RMS 2.0 for XP (FR1 and FR2). Hopefully someone
else can provide some insight.

I have MF 1.8 SP3 on W2k Server SP2. I have added an alarm profile
for ourselves and edited the values. How do I get RMS to use the new
alarm profile and not the default, please.

I don't see any issues with the objects you have monitored.

But, what version and FR level of MF are you running?

"Also, when I go into editing the settings, it says 'The default
alarm profile cannot be modified"

Were exactly in the CMC are you getting this error?

Subject: [THIN] RMS Thresholds

I understand that all of the thresholds are customizable and that one
should benchmark the server(s) to see what is 'normal' for ones
environment.
Then to adjust the settings... select VIEW...OPTIONS...ALARMS...Edit
Alarm Profile. Some settings I want to modify are Context Switches,
Process Count, Thread Count, and Cache File Rate etc. My new settings
are based on benchmarking my server with 10, 20 , and 30 users. Does
anyone have any concerns here? Also, when I go into editing the
settings, it says 'The default alarm profile cannot be modified'.
What should I do? Import profile? Thanks.
