Its not a firewall. Rather an appliance mail/content scanner, they just call it a mail firewall for marketing reasons. Why do you want to bother running it on a linux OS if an appliance like this would be available and possibly more cost effective, and have more features? They have a PE300sc doing nothing, and I would like to replace their existing SMTP server (which happens to be a Dell workstation). I'm just looking for an alternative to TrendMicro's IMSS product that can be installed on a RedHat Enterprise v3 system. Thanks. One word. Mxtreme mail firewall appliance. I would rate it the best on the market and its licensing system is awesome. Where you don't have to pay per client. Just one flat price for the appliance itself. www.borderware.com has all of the information on it. I know that Trend is releasing the version 5.5 of the IMSS product that will include their new spam filtering engine in Q1 '04, but from the documentation I have read for 5.1 it seems a little tricky to get it running like the Windows NT/200x version.
