We use Avocent switches, they work as advertised. Not cheap and a bit tricky in
conjunction their authentication server. AFAIK Avocent is used as OEM by a
number of other brands like Dell.

Subject: [THIN] KVM over IP

Thin List,

We are moving some servers to a different building to keep backups in a
separate building as well as some redundant machines for disaster purposes.

I think a KVM over IP would be useful for console access without having to go
across campus.

We will need to have at least 2 administrators access the servers at the same
time.

What brands/models do you recommend and why.

I have looked at the specs for the Dominion KX216 switch.

Any comments would be helpful.

Thank you,
Keith Sirmons
