I know this does not answer your questions, but FYI:
 
In case you need to do data recovery on a failed raid, there is a software 
called R-Studio.  You can hook all of the raid hard drives to a computer in a 
JBOD mode and the software can emulate the RAID so it can restore and recover 
data from failed hard drives and RAIDs.

A quick question..
 
On a server (RAID1,mirroring), if RAID card fails, when i replace it,can save 
the HDD data?
or is it mandatory to blank them,and how do i restore the HDD? any idea like 
ghost etc..
