That's why I kept asking what your were publishing. You should never
publish a .lnk file. there should never be a reason too.

I'll give this a try, I was just publishing a batch file that called active directory users and computers.lnk.

I have the command-line published to allow access to the dsa.msc snap-in

"%systemroot%\mmc.exe" -E "%systemroot%\dsa.msc"

Your right it should not need to install anything. It is acting like it
is installing the admin kit. For some reason on the server I am publishing
it on it works fine after an admin has gone through the installation. Once
the server has rebooted though it wants to go through an installation again.

Thanks,

Chris

You shouldn't need to install anything for AD Users and Computers. What
exactly are you publishing?

Actually I found out that if I install it from the console and don't

I think you can publish the MMC snap-in for AD Users and Computers. This
is
how I recall publishing AD Users and Computers and the SMS Management
Console.

Don't think I know the answer to your question, but I'm wondering: why? Can't they just run the AD tool on whatever system they are using to connect to the TS in the first place?

Hey All,

Has anybody been able to publish AD users and computers to domain admins
without them having admin access to the Terminal server? Trying it now
but it wants to do an installation whenever they try and run it. I have
done this install from the console but it wants to install it again
through terminal services.

Thanks,

Chris
