I am planning to replicate profiles (2 GB) I've read several documents that advise to use DFS for read-only data. What I want is to have the profiles stored on 2 Domain Controllers and then use a Terminal Services Profile: %logonserver%\profiles\%username% This seems to work, but I need to make sure that profile information is updated as required. I am not sure if replication will do this job since assume that 1 server will be the export server and another the import server. Anyone using this kind of setup? At the worst case, I can continue to use 1 DC for profiles and configure File replication to the other DC once at night. This will at least give me something. __________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph:(540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 -----Original Message----- From: Jim Hathaway [mailto:JimH@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2002 12:25 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: File Replication in Win2K Depends on how much that data is accessed and changed . . but have you looked at DFS? http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/datacenter/help/default.asp?url=3D= /windows2000/en/datacenter/help/sag_DFconceptMng.htm J =20 -----Original Message----- From: Minero Hector B DLVA [mailto:MineroHB@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Tuesday October 22, 2002 9:17 AM To: Thin (E-mail) Subject: [THIN] File Replication in Win2K Is it possible to configure File Replication of a directory between 2 Win2K Domain Controllers? I've checked TechNet and I found some informaiton about the SYSVOL share, but no luck finding a procedure for=20 replicating other directories. Any help is appreciated. __________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph:(540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 *********************************************** This weeks sponsor Emergent Online http://www.go-eol.com Visit Jim Kenzig of thethin.net at the Emergent Online Booth #221 at Citrix Iforum 2002!
