No, I am not trying to sell you anything, in fact if you own the Enterprise edition you already own the licenses. I am trying to share useful information about server based computing. Your question was framed in the context of "my migration from Metaframe XP FR2 to PS 4.0 on W2K3" and then asked about replacing the emulator. I am trying to point out to you that this can be also be accomplished using Citrix, which is after what this list is based on. Regards, Steve Greenberg Thin Client Computing 34522 N. However, it still makes sense to install PS on HP UX because then the only client software required is the ICA client, it uses less bandwidth, easier to configure, etc.. When you factor in the desktops though the cost may or not make sense depending on what you may for the per seat emulation software. I know it may seem backwards, but this approach is really a much better to get UNIX sessions out to non UNIX clients... Steve Greenberg Thin Client Computing 34522 N. I am not looking to install PS 4 on Unix, I am installing PS 4 on Windows 2003 Server. We are looking at replacing our terminal emulation product, WRQ Reflections, which is installed on the windows server as an application. A couple of products we are looking at for replacing Reflections are Ericoms Powerterm or Seagull Software Bluezone. I was looking for feedback on either of those two products. The same product would be used on any enduser that has a desktop, non citrix. We have about 325 licensed user for Reflection at the moment. From the PS server on Windows you run the ICA client to access the HP application. Regards, Steve Greenberg Thin Client Computing 34522 N. We currently use WRQ Reflection for our emulation product to connect into our UNIX business system. Works fine, we had to do some monkying with the different emulations to get the best performance, ended up going with VT220 and remapping some of the function keys to get everything to work. The cost of it, licenses and maintenance, is getting to be too much and certain endusers still complain about it. Two that we have come across that fit the bill as far as cost and emulation ( would like to go back to WYSE60) are Ericom Powerterm Lite, and Powerterm Interconnect and Seagull Bluezone. has anybody used any of these and have any opnions on them? good and bad. I'm looking to getting one or two of them setup and test before Briforum so I can come prepared with more questions if I need to. Thanks in advance for any feedback. -- Bruce -- Bruce -- Bruce -- Bruce
