That's pretty much how I saw it, will give it a spin on a test server and
I'll drop you an email off-list as to how it went (unless anyone else is
interested in how this works)...

Once you've got in all installed you'll see that the example capture image
script sequence runs a sysprep command prior to booting to the deployment
agent and running imgdeploy.

But, the imgdeploy command is a separate process that takes imagename,
partition and capture options as parameters. The process of a partition
capture is either file based or image based.

So imgdeploy appears to be independent from sysprep. I say appears as we're
concentrating on the initial deployment at the moment and the thought was to
use imgdeploy as a backup strategy.

Thanks, that looks good! Does Imgdeploy actually capture a live system
partition and then replace "as-is" ie. Run without doing sysprep etc, but
just restores a drive in the event of a disaster recovery?

If you are looking at taking images of working servers look at the ADS
enviornment from microsoft -

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/overview/ads.mspx

Currently working on a project that utilises this service and it has some
useful factors for a citrix environment

Subject: [THIN] Compaq Smart Array

Hi All,

Slightly off topic. I want to ghost our Citrix servers in case of disaster
recovery. We're using a Compaq Proliant DL580, using a Compaq Smart Array
5300 for RAID. I need to build a DOS bootdisk, but Compaq tell me that the
5300 doesn't support DOS and that there are no ASPI drivers for it.
Surely
that can't true?? Anyone have any ideas where I can get the DOS drivers for
this array?

Thanks,

Lee Prior
