The past couple days may have been overcast and breezy, but birds were
quite active yesterday although it was almost as chilly as during
Saturday's bird walk (which started late with one hardy couple from
Alaska), a visiting couple from North Carolina was able to get nice views
of several very showy White-eyed Vireos and Olive Sparrows, as well as a
good sized mixed flock that included at least two Nashville Warblers and
one Pine Warbler along with the many Black-crested Titmice, Orange-crowned
Warblers and Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. The warbler flocks may move around,
but most days it is difficult not to spot several Common Ground-Dove along
the tram road, especially at the corner by Hunter's Lane.
Saturday's list is below. The Pine Warbler at the 2nd bridge and an
Ovenbird near the end of the Ebony Trail were notable differences
yesterday.

The Visitor Center is now open every Wednesday, all year! We've been
looking forward to this change. Also, starting in January new weekly
programs will be added, including a Friday morning Nature Walk at 9:30.
