I have been entering all birds into Ebird this year: including : Nutmeg
Manakins, Orange Bishops, Domestic Mallards and Muscovies, Peacocks, Monk
Parakeets, and Egyptian Geese.

Subject: [texbirds] Question on Egyptian Goose status

I am interested in Texbirders' comments-please educate me on what is the
tipping point before an Egyptian Goose or other exotic species with a breeding
population counts.
I recently saw some Egyptian Geese at City Park in Austin, and have only seen
them once or twice otherwise.  When I put them in eBird it said they were rare.
I read this article from ABA Birding http://www.aba.org/birding/v43n5p46.pdf
and it indicated that eventually many of these exotic species will become
countable. It seems like it would be good to capture this data in eBird and
have it show in the eBird Explore Data section, just like it does for Indian
Peafowl or Swan Goose (domestic).

I am interested in Texbirders' comments.
Thanks.
