I think people were just checking out other possible spots, given that the bird
was last seen heading south.

............
I am a bit confused as usual. Are there two Jabirus?? If not why are folks
looking in Nueces, Kleberg Co.s etc which is a very long way from the location
it was first found and with so much excellent habitat between the two
locations..Did I miss something? I don't take notifications on some FB pages
and don't do Inaturalist. So was just wondering. There was one in Victoria
county last year which was around for at least a few days on private land.

The Jabiru was also not found yesterday evening at the pond on Joe
Fulton Corridor in N.W. Corpus Christi -- but a Harris' Hawk was
perched in a tree there, keeping an eye on the multitudes of
Red-winged Blackbirds settling in for the night. Common Nighthawks
were heard flying overhead, a Forster's Tern flew by and a lone
Black-crowned Night Heron sat in a tree close to the water.

Texbirders,
Sarah and I roamed the coastal bend today, compiling a list of places
the Jabiru was not:
- Nueces County: Chapman Ranch Rd
<http://ebird.org/ebird/hotspot/L1272938
by the Post Office
- Kingsville: TAMUK campus
- Kleberg County: east of Riviera including the dump, Mittag's Pond
<http://ebird.org/ebird/hotspot/L420544>, and Pipit's Corner (eBird
hotspots)
- Anywhere along TX77 from Kingsville to Victoria
- Invista Wetlands <http://ebird.org/ebird/hotspot/L569908> southeast
of Victoria (viewing tower closed to public access, but open for
standing-on-truck access)
- Dacosta Turf Farm <http://ebird.org/ebird/hotspot/L3046332> also
southeast of Victoria
- Lighthouse Beach and Bird Sanctuary
<http://ebird.org/ebird/hotspot/L3046332> - Port Lavaca
- Guadalupe Delta WMA <http://ebird.org/ebird/hotspot/L569741>
As others have mentioned here or on Texbirds Fb, there is a whole lot
of land without even so much a shoulder of a road for access. It's
going to take a lot of eyes and even more good fortune to refind it.
Good luck to any and all out there tomorrow!
Good birds,
