I saw 3 hummingbirds this morning. Unfortunately because of lighting I have no
clue as to what they were. Two of them were the smallest Hummingbirds that I
have ever seen. At first, I thought they were butterflies but there was a
larger hummer close to them and then I realized they were also hummingbirds.
They flew up to the top of the canopy of an oak tree and I lost them.

Texbirders,
Considering the hummingbird discussion in another thread, here's an
observation I just made at the ranch where I work in western Travis County
(Austin). I was watching my feeders with binoculars when a Ruby-throated
Hummingbird came into view, hovering over the suet block I just put out. I
observed it reach in and grab a couple of bits of the suet before heading
over to the nectar feeder to wash it all down. That's the first time I've
observed that.
I am currently observing at least six ruby-throated/black chinned
hummingbirds and two rufous/allens (one adult male and one female/immature
male) coming to two feeders here at the ranch.
