As I sat down to breakfast before sunrise this morning, I heard a strange noise coming from my very urban backyard. It sounded vaguely like one of my dogâs squeak toys or maybe a duck. I think I found the silhouette of a GHOW sitting up high in the tall cottonwood tree in our yard. The GHOWs frequently call from that tree in early winter. After a while it was answered by a HOOT. Exploring on the web, I see that the call is a HARNK. I was not able to record it. Robin Dennis Austin (Western Trails) --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
