Texbirders,
I birded the Granger area (~ 35 miles NE of Austin) today (2/20/16) from 7:30am
- 12:30pm and had the following highlights from the 70 species recorded for the

Mountain Plover (28 on the west side of CR 347, ~ .25 mile south of CR 346.
Thanks to Shelia Hargis and her group who were already on the birds when I
drove up!)
Pileated Woodpecker (1 female photographed at Dickerson's Bottom Fishing Access
in San Gabriel WMA)
Hammond's Flycatcher (Continuing rarity photographed at Dickerson's Bottom
Fishing Access in San Gabriel WMA)
McCown's Longspur (150+ photographed at the sharp bend on CR 360. Been hard to
find this winter. Video at
