Good afternoon Texbirders,
We had a wonderful bird walk this morning with a variety of species.  We saw
several duck species in the pond area and from the John Jacob Observation Tower
(Wood Ducks-Pond 4S, Hooded Merganser-Pond 3N).   American Bitterns were seen
towards the end of the south loop trail and at Pond 4N.  The Bald Eagle was
seen over the prairie from the tower and parking lot.   Plenty of sparrows were
seen from the prairie boardwalk.  We also have regularly been seeing
Red-shouldered Hawks near the Headquarters building, patrolling and carrying
nesting material.

Please come out for a bird walk next month on March 5th and March 19th, both
will begin at 8:00am at the Pond Center.
