Hi everyone,
It was a nice and sunny morning bird walk. On Monday, February 26 the
Long-eared owl was spotted however, we were not able to find it today. We
will keep looking and give an update if it is spotted again. During the
bird walk today, my group and I kept on searching for the owl but we were
able to see some other cool birds too. Black-and-white warblers were active
around the grounds and the sound of a Wilson's warbler was heard only but
seen by other birders. At the canal, Black-crowned Night Herons can be
easily seen as well as a Yellow-crowned Night Heron. At South Pond, the
water is low and of course there were Northern shovelers, Blue-winged teals
and Green-winged teals. Also a few shorebirds were spotted such as
Long-billed Dowitchers, Least sandpipers, and being all by itself...a
solitary sandpiper:) Below is this morning's bird list.
