Hello,

Had some unexpected time on the coast yesterday. Had 20 warbler species between
Blucher in Corpus, Paradise, and Birding Center. 15 at Blucher including
Golden-winged, 2 Kentucky, Ovenbird, Worm-eating, and also Acadian Flycatcher,
a dead Chuck-will’s-widow (and several live ones), Wood Thrush. Had to work
really hard to find everything but it was worth it. Added 2 beautiful
Philadelphia Vireos, Cerulean, Blackpoll, and Chestnut-sided at Paradise, and
saw the amazing Cape May Warbler at the birding center. He nearly attacked a
photographer while I was there. Also 1 Red Knot on the beach. Only one.
Concerning. And a Crested Caracara on the beach there too, right by the waves.
Pretty cool.
This morning I snatched an hour at SPI Convention Center and saw Scarlet
Tanager, Chestnut-sided and Kentucky, and Blue Grosbeaks. Then had Bobwhite and
Botteri’s Sparrow singing near a claim near Laguna Atascosa. Buena Vista rd
actually.

Good birding,
