Birding opportunities tomorrow April 22 at Kleb Woods Nature Center
We will have our regular Wednesday Bird walk from 8:30-11 AM. Today we had
several species of warbler, including a territorial Swainson's Warbler.
Hopefully he will be here tomorrow. As always, these walks are free and led by
Nature Center Staff. All ages are welcome. New birders are always welcome, as
all the participants enjoy showing people new birds. Rubber boots are highly
recommended as well as mosquito protection.
Tomorrow afternoon, from 1:30-3:30 PM, we will have a warbler identification
workshop. We will have a slide presentation as well as study skins from the
Texas A&M Biodiversity collection. This is a unique opportunity to see the real
bird in close comparison to similar species. Kendra Kocab and Fred Collins will
present this class. It is free, and all ages are welcome. It will be most
appreciated by people with some birding experience, but then too the photos of
these brightly colored birds are enjoyed by non-birdwatchers as well as serious
birders.
